For dinner one summer night, I ate a chunk of slow-cooked roast-beef, some raw veggies, and as a treat, a bowl of halved fresh strawberries, whole fresh blueberries, and two table-spoons of heavy whipping cream. Recent studies are the cream in my coffee
First, there came a big meta-analysis of thousands of scientific papers on the effects of caffeine on humans, which found that 3 or 4 cups of coffee a day (that is, a total of 400 mg of caffeine) probably won't hurt you. Unless you're pregnant, in which case you should drink less -- 2 or 3 cups a day (300 mg of caffeine). Coffee = Life = Coffee
Early on in my low-carb adventure, I ran across the advice to stop drinking coffee. That nearly ended my low-carb adventure right then. There are some things you can't give up. Coffee's at the top of my list. Repeat after me, friends: "Coffee is life, life is coffee." That is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know. Coffee is low-carb -- right? Mind-sets
I call this site "Life after Carbs" because, of course, there were carbs in my diet at one time -- bucket-loads of carbs, for years on end -- and I'm sure that's true for everyone reading this. In our culture, and in the vast majority of cultures around the world, you don't start out eating a low-carb diet. Even the Inuit have flour and sugar, and diabetes and heart-disease.
