Yes, that’s right — a whole month in review. As you can see, my weight changed little during November, though I ate what many people would call a low-carb, high-fat diet. At least, on an average day.
For me, though, 60 total grams of carbs per day (40 grams net) and 67% of calories from fat seems to constitute a maintenance diet.
My daily dietary averages and overall weight change for November contrast sharply with those for April of this year:
Granted, I averaged 35 more calories per day in November than in April. But what I find more significant are the averages for carbs (57 grams vs. 45 grams) and percent of calories from fat (67% vs. 71%).
And, of course, in November I gained nearly a pound while in April I lost over four pounds.
I need to get back into the dietary groove I was in earlier this year.
Will I manage that in December — a month notorious for dietary pitfalls?
Maybe not, but I should at least be able to hold steady.

Hi Jim
It does look like you have found your maintenance plan. I do appreciate your rigour in documenting your diet/lifestyle. I have not been able to sustain that process long term. I am a male in a similar demographic (which is why I find your blog interesting) trying to transition from intermittent fasting to LCHF while still losing weight. For a month I seemed to have accidentally found my maintenance plan too but with a tweak or two the weigh’s coming off again.
Keep up the great work, good luck, and thanks again
Peter

Peter — Thank you for well-wishes and encouragement. In the months ahead, I’ll be searching for those “tweaks” you mention. I have a good idea where I might find them! Good luck to you. Jim

Keep it going Writer Jim . A marvelous n=1 study! Change some factor (resistance weight lifting, fasting method, meditation to decrease cortisol and stress hormone action, admixture of fat type, etc. ) and go forward . Best to only change one at a time .
Your steadfastness and patience are commendable .
